That's how the joins are made. Drill a hole in both pieces, stick a bit of metal wire in there, and glue 'em up tight. This join right in the middle of Ayanami's thigh is pretty vexing; it took a lot of work to smooth out.

So, nothing worth showing has happened in a long time. I sanded a lot, filled in some pinholes, sanded some more, drilled holes for the reinforcement wires, set up the bits on a piece of styrofoam, and primed them.

Priming is such a black art. I never have any idea whether I'm getting a good coat or what, it's hard to see the white primer on the white resin, sometimes there's a particle residue, and sometimes I end up with whole areas that seem not to have a speck of primer on them at all. Anyway, priming exposes some flaws that weren't as obvious before, so I got to do more sanding and filing.
